Scale Insights computes refunded units differently for the Refund Rate against other pages.

Refund Rate Page

  • The refund rate page looks at orders made during the selected date range, and then finds how many of those past orders are refunded.

  • The image below shows 3,600 units sold from 06-Oct to 04-Nov, and 48 of those sold are refunded.

  • This page aims to analyze the actual refund rate in a specific period, enabling you to measure your refund rate over time as you continue to improve your product.

Other Sales Page

  • Other pages compute refunded units based on refunds made during the selected date range, even if the customer made the purchase 1 year ago.

  • This computation helps project the current P&L by factoring in refund costs incurred.

Example

  • A customer purchases a product on 1st January and makes a refund on 1st May.

  • The refund page will reflect the refund on 1st January.

  • The other sales page will reflect the refund on 1st May.
