Incorrect inventory from ASIN with multiple SKUs

Learn about incorrect inventory from ASIN with multiple SKUs.

Updated over 4 months ago

  • If you advertise an ASIN with multiple SKUs, Scale Insights will not consider inventory from multiple SKUs for the same ASIN and country.

  • This is an existing limitation of the system.

  • The system will automatically select a default SKU based on the creation date.

  • The SKU with the earlier creation date will be prioritized over the one with a later creation date.

  • However, after the new SKU runs out of stock and becomes inactive, Scale Insights will use the old SKU as the default.

  • The system considers the following conditions in choosing which SKU to use, listed in order of priority:

    • Active SKUs will take priority over Inactive SKUs.

    • FBA will take priority over FBM.

    • Seller-generated SKU will take priority over Amazon-generated SKU ("SKU starting with amzn.gr" for reselling, etc.).

    • New item condition will take priority over Used item condition.

    • A new open date will take priority over an older open date.

Assigning a preferred SKU:

  • You can overwrite the default SKU and assign a preferred SKU.

Navigation: Products > Edit Product

1. Go to the Products page and click Edit Product

2. On the Edit page, enter your preferred SKU at the bottom and save the changes.

  • The preferred SKU will be reflected on various Scale Insights pages with SKU information, such as the Restock Forecasting page, Products page, and Main Dashboard.
