Your Campaigns Have No Brains. What's Your Excuse?

Amazon's ad platform will happily spend you into oblivion. Here's how to give it the OFF switch it desperately needs.

Updated today

Your ads are incredibly dumb.

They'll spend you straight into a stockout. And feel nothing.

But they don't know better. You do.

Here's the cycle you're stuck in:

You run aggressive PPC. Sales are great. Rank is climbing. Everything’s as planned.

You don’t notice a dip in inventory. Your ads keep spending anyway.

Next week? You sell out. Your listing is hidden. Amazon immediately starts demoting your rank.

You restock 7-14 days later. By then, you’re buried on page 4.

The recovery costs? 3X your initial spend (or more).

There's a better way. You need a system that monitors inventory for you and stops stockouts before they happen.

What this unlocks:

✔ Auto-pause rules that trigger at YOUR threshold—not when you hit zero. When you hit 50 units, or 30, or whatever number keeps you safe.

✔ Dual-condition logic that prevents false triggers—so you're not pausing campaigns that shouldn't be paused because of a temporary inventory sync issue.

✔ Change logs that show you exactly what happened—every pause, every trigger, every decision—fully auditable so you know your system is working.

Stop letting your ads make dumb decisions.

Try it Yourself 🧑‍🔧

How to set this up in Scale Insights:

1. From your Scale Insights account, navigate to Automation.

2. Select Status rule > Create rule.

3. Name it something like “Pause Campaigns When Stock <= 100”.

4. Set it to trigger ads with at least 1 impression.

5. Set the Maximum stock in inventory to 100. This rule only triggers when stock levels hit 100 and below.

6. Under New campaign status, select Pause.

7. Under New ad group status, select Unchanged. This ensures that the rule doesn’t make any other changes to the ad.

8. Click Create.

9. Select the ad(s) you wish to apply the new status rule to and click Assign.

✅ Done. Safety net active.

Your campaigns auto-pause when stock reaches 100 units or less.
