Your biggest competitor isn't another seller. It's your 3AM ad spend.
No wonder your ACOS is high.
Let me explain.
Youâre running your campaigns on a flat budget of $500 per day. The week goes quickly. Itâs Saturday 2PMâthe universal âgolden hourâ and your biggest source of conversions in the last month.
You do a quick check of your campaign dashboardâŚand somehow youâve used 75% of your daily budget.
On what? Midnight window shoppers, misclicks. 4AM bot traffic. Clicks that were never going to convert.
But you paid for every single one. And by the time your real customers show up? Your listing is already dark on Amazon.
The fix? Adaptive Daypartingâa system that automatically shifts budget away from dead zones and funnels it to your highest-converting hours.
What becomes possible:
â Your budget shows up strong during Saturday's golden hoursânot gone by noon
â Stop paying $150/day for bot clicks that kill your ACOS
â Watch conversions stack when your ads actually run during prime time
Stop advertising to the void. Show up when it mattersâfor actual customers.
How to Set This Up in Scale Insights
This takes about 10 minutes. You'll set up two automations:
Budget shifts by day of the week (e.g. more on weekends, less on dead days)
Ad scheduling by hour (only run when buyers are actually shopping)
Let's get into it.
Part 1: Automate Campaign Budget Spend by Day of the Week
1. From your Scale Insights account, navigate to Automation.
2. Select Daily budget rule > Create rule.
3. In this case, weâll create a rule to funnel more budget to weekends. Name it something like âWeekends Increase | Weekdays Decreaseâ.
4. Set the Baseline budget: 100.
5. For Adjustment %, set the budget adjustments per day based on your sales data. E.g. 30% on Sundays, 50% on Saturdays, etc.
Negative numbers = less budget. Positive = more budget.
6. Based on these adjustment percentages and a $100 daily budget, the new daily budget would be:
7. Click Create.
8. Select the ad(s) you wish to apply the rule to and click Assign.
â Done. Your campaign budget now auto-adjusts across the week.
Part 2: Identify Your Prime Hours and Automate Ad Scheduling by the Hour
1. Navigate to Sales â Dayparting trend.
2. Select the Hourly sales (product) tab. Youâll be able to see how your ASIN performs at each hour of the day.
The hours follow the timezone of the marketplace youâre selling in.
3. Look for the hours with the highest sales volume and best conversion rates. Those are your prime hours.
In this example, peak hours are 7AM to 7:59PM. Anything outside that window? Probably junk traffic.
4. Navigate to Automation > Dayparting rule > Create rule.
5. Name it: Run Ads Only From 7AM to 7:59PM Daily.
6. Select the hour(s) you want to turn on/off the ads.
7. Click Create.
8. Select the ad(s) you wish to assign this rule to and click Assign.
â Done.
Your campaigns now have a biological clock. They spend when your customers are buyingâand go dark when they're not. Adjust the rules anytime based on performance.
